For parents
You want to help. They want to do it themselves.
Edward has spent a career watching how talent moves, and how it doesn’t. He has seen families struggle to understand what “networking” actually means, and how much changes when a graduate finally gets close to the people who make hiring decisions.
Why parents reach out
The job market changed. The advice didn’t.
Entry-level roles are harder to find, hiring is increasingly automated, and strong candidates get filtered out before a person ever reads their resume. Your graduate is being told to “network” and “stand out” without anyone showing them how.
Coaching gives them a plan, practice, and honest feedback from someone who has sat on the hiring side of the table for decades.
“Before coaching, my daughter struggled to explain what she wanted and how to get there. Ed and his team helped her find direction, build a strong story, and take meaningful steps forward.”

Questions parents ask
Frequently asked
- Who should book the first call, me or my graduate?
- Either is fine. Many parents book the first call and join it. After that, sessions are one-on-one between Edward and your graduate.
- Will I know how it is going?
- Your graduate owns their search, so what is shared is up to them. Many families agree on a simple check-in rhythm at the start.
- What if my graduate is reluctant?
- That is common. The first call is short and low pressure. Hearing from someone who has done the hiring often lands differently than hearing it at home.
- Is what they share kept private?
- Yes. Coaching notes and reflections are never shared with employers without explicit permission. See our privacy policy for details.
Results
In their words
I didn’t realize how much my lack of clarity was holding me back. Ed helped me define my direction, strengthen my narrative, and present myself confidently. The result: interviews and a job offer.
The expertise of the Hire Proximity team allowed me to refine my weak spots in interview settings and made me a significantly stronger candidate overall.
I was skeptical at first and thought I’d heard every piece of advice I could get, but there was much more depth to what Ed was teaching me than the more traditional ‘fortune cookie’ advice out there.
Let’s get started.
Book the first call yourself, or share this page with your graduate. Twenty minutes, no pressure.
